| Best Friends to More... |

I had just moved back to my home town for about 6 months before moving on to a bigger city. Anyways, I remember one day in science class, I looked over to the other side of the room at a guy only to see that he was looking at me as well. He came over and we played cards until the end of class. This was the beginning of a lasting friendship.
The next week, my emotions were running astray when his best friend asked me out. I stupidly said yes. We were together for 6 1/2 months. After I finally broke off the relationship, I had to tell my best friend how I really felt about him. He was the one person I truly loved and cared for more than anything in the world and I apologized over and over again for hurting him. A couple months later, once settled in the new city, my family and I were going to go out to camp and I asked if he could join us for a couple days. They happily agreed.
Getting to the kiss now... It was a cool, dark night and it was around 3 am. He and I had been cuddling with each other outside on the porch for hours. Finally, what I thought would never happen, did. We had been quiet for a few moments when all of a sudden he slowly turned my head so we were face to face, he gazed deep into my eyes, and he gently pressed his lips onto mine. It was the softest, sweetest kiss I had ever felt. I didn't know what was happening, but I felt as though I was going to melt. For the next half hour we sat there talking quietly, and as we were about to go inside, he looked at me as though looking right through me and said, "I thought that would never happen." We kissed again before going inside and have now, for the last 4 months, been happier than ever before in our lives. We are currently planning a trip to Europe for our graduating summer of high school. A long distance relationship is difficult, but we care so deeply for each other, nothing can separate us. We are in love and always will be. |
