Her First Meaningful Kiss
by Santana
She hardly slept that night. Her stomach had butterflies and she couldn’t stop smiling. The next day came sooner then she thought it would. She had lied to her dad and told him she was going with her cousin to a movie and possibly dinner. She called her love and told him she was on her way. She could hear from the tone of his voice that he too, was happy and smiling. She got in the red, run down truck and buckled her seat belt. She was 10 minutes from falling in love even harder. They drove in complete silence, but her head was loud with thoughts.
"There it is, his house!" she thought. She actually felt dizzy. Her cousin looked at her, giggling, and brushed the hair out of her little cousin's face. She said, very quietly, “Go.” The girl smiled nervously and walked to the front door. Her love opened the door right when she stepped up. They looked at each other in the eyes and for a moment time stood still. Everything went in slow motion as she reached up to give him a hug. He looked at her, smiled, put his face down, and blushed. She giggled at his childish output and grabbed his hand as he led her inside. She stood there a little awkwardly as he offered her a drink of water or of coke. She turned it down and she led herself to the couch and sat down, a little nervous of what to say. He sat down beside her and turned on the TV. She smiled and allowed herself to lean on him. She playfully took the remote from his hand and turned the channel. He reached for it and laughed as she pulled it away. She loved his laugh. It always made her smile. He looked at her and put his face to hers. She slowly moved her face up and felt his lips touch hers. They only kissed for a moment, but she felt as his tongue smoothly reached into her mouth and touched hers. Her body felt limp. Her stomach dropped. She immediately stopped and turned away. He just sighed, hugging her softly and said, “I love you.” She looked at him and kissed him softly on the lips. She turned away and closed her eyes. Every time they would begin to kiss heavily he would stop just to tell her he loved her.
