Soul Mates |
by Ann |
One day in July of 2000 while I was at work I logged onto Yahoo Euchre as I did every day during my lunch hour. Very seldom did I make conversation with my partners but this one was different. We played about 4 games of Euchre that day and for some reason I decided to instant message this man that was my partner earlier that day. I knew nothing about him, not his age, name, location, etc. He replied and we found ourselves in endless conversation. He was 29 at the time; I was 23. We are both from Michigan, (he resided in South Carolina) have similar interest, same values, faith, and the list goes on. After conversing online and on the phone for about four months we decided to finally meet each other face to face. He flew into Michigan on a Thursday, spent the day with his family, and then met me at a restaurant of my choice. We instantly connected and enjoyed each others company for the next four days at a resort in Northern Michigan. The time came Sunday afternoon when he had to leave for the airport and both of our hearts were breaking to the point of tears. We said our goodbyes and I cried my whole way home and for the better part of that Sunday. We talked every night, saw each other every few months, and went on little getaways either in Michigan or South Carolina. In July of 2001 I was laid off from my job and all of a sudden all of these endless possibilities opened up for us. From July until October I flew down to South Carolina every other week for a long weekend. I decided to start looking for a job around mid August and within a week I was employed, moving in with him, and planning our wedding! We were married in July of 2003 in Michigan with both of our families present. The both of us still have no idea how we got where we are today but we do know one thing. Everyone out there has a soul mate and nobody should ever settle for anything less than the love the two of us have found. Words can't explain the love we feel for each other, it is so powerful! Everyday I thank the lord for this man and for a game called Euchre! |
