A Glance On The Street |
by Niki |
The first time I saw him I thought he was the most beautiful man I had ever seen. He looked so strong and confident. I smiled as we passed. He said hello and kept on going. My heart was fluttering. I thought about him for the rest of the day. The beautiful man on the street. Months went by, he was still in my mind. By chance my friend and I were having a night on the town and meeting up with some friends. As I'm sitting there ordering a drink, I look to towards the door and who should happen to walk in but him. I gasp, of all the luck, it had to be fate. He came and sat down. He ordered a drink as I sat and stared into his eyes that were warm like a roaring fire, and soft like teddy bear. I asked him his name, he said Joe. We started to talk and suddenly there was noone else in the room, we were in our own world far away from everything but each other. We leave and walk all night it seems, talking and holding and kissing till the wee hours of the morning. He leaves me at my doorstep, it's hard to go in. I had the most wonderful night and I didn't want it to end. But I should have known for this was just a beginning, the man with the confidence and warm soft eyes who I couldn't get out of my mind, is now the man I will live with and love for the rest of my life, as his wife. |
