It was a normal day at work,(I work at a Wal-Mart Distribution Center). It was very busy, I was working a split shift. About 3:00pm I had to start working the window, which intailed checking in the drivers that came to deliver product to our facility. We had 3 windows that they could check in at, I was at the first window and a co-worker was at the second window. This driver had come in and he was standing at the second window very patiently (delivering Pumpkin Pies for Thanksgiving) and my co-worker
and I were talking about the this guy that I was dating at the time, and he was teasing me, telling me that he was probably married and had a few kids in Texas, then the driver standing there looked at me and said, "let me guess he's a truck driver?"
and I said "yea"....and he said, "then he's probably married and has girlfriends in every city" and I said, "why because you do?" and he said, "no I don't have a wife or a girlfriend and I choose it to be that way!!!!!!" and I looked at him kind of funny. And he said, "but I am not gay." So I laughed and that was when I realized that I was going to marry this man. When he was leaving, he left me his cell phone # and email address, and I gave him my name and email address. As soon as I got home I called him, and I left a message on his voice mail. I did not hear from him that night, but all night long he was all I could think about. The next morning I was at work, when he called me, at first I didn't know who he was, but when I did realize it was him, I was estatic! We talked for hours that night after I got home, he called me several times at work that week, on Thursday morning I received a beautiful bouquet of carnations, there were 11 red ones, 5 white ones, and 1 sunflower. The card read: This is the first day of your new life, if you figure out the code, you are way ahead of the picture. I was dumbfounded, I didn't know what he was talking about. So I called him, I ask him if he sent me flowers and he said, "did you get flowers?" I said, "yes", he said, "what do they look like?" So I told him and I said there is a big purple bow on them, and he said, "well I didn't have anything to do with the purple bow (which is my favorite color). I thanked him, and he ask me if I figure out the code, and I said I didn't, so he said count how many flowers there are of each. I finally figured it out. The date we met was 11/5/01, red were for the month, the white for the day and sunflower for the year. He said, "anyone can send flowers, but it is how you send them. On 11/12/01 he proposed to me, and of course I said "YES". We were married 12/23/01, (at 3:18 pm, the same time we actually met)in our living room. It was the happiest day of my life. We are going on our 7 month anniversary. |
