In my mind I've often thought,
Would I ever find that friend I've always sought?
Might he appear one fine day?
Hopefully before I've turned too old, too gray...
A best friend like him would always stay,
through the thunder and lighting he’d never stray.
He would try to remain close to my heart,
Never daring to break such a fragile thing apart.
Our talks would be about ideas both big and small,
Even though mine might be dumb he’d listen to them all.
Between friends like us, fights would be rare,
We’d know that our feelings are worth too much to tear.
I’ll always be waiting for this perfect friend to come,
Although I have no clue at what time, or where from,
but I pray one day he'll stumble upon me,
because what a wonderful friend he would be...
