A friend is someone who'll always be there
To laugh with, cry with, someone who cares
They make you smile when you are sad
And make you happy when you are mad
They'll sit up with you all night on the phone
Just because you feel alone
They'll really listen to what you have to say
And tell you everything will be 'okay'
They'll give you clothes when you need something to wear
Everything with you they'll practically share
They're happy just to sit with you
And watch movies the whole night through
And when the boys make you cry
They'll wipe the tears from your eyes
They'll tell you, "things will be just fine"
And you know that they would never lie
They'd give up everything they have for you
Their mother feels like your mother, too
You know they'll always greet you with open arms
And keep you safe from any harm
They'll do things that they hate to do
Just because it means a lot to you
They'll stick with you until the very end.
