Friendships Fade |
by Dominique |
It’s hard to think
That something as meaningful as a friendship
Could be crashing to the ground
As quickly as minutes turn into hours
And days turn into weeks
Conversations once containing depth
Now simply filled with superficiality
Empty comments that mean nothing
A listener
A few words of comfort
A shoulder to cry on
This was the person I needed
I’ve done everything possible
Hinting here and there
Out right telling you
Offering you my camaraderie
I can’t try anymore
There is no energy left in me
Isolating yourself
From everyone that you used to know
Familiarity once shared is lost
