My Weeping Pony
by Caitlin Corbett
To you,
The friendship that we had so long,
It is gone.

To you,
The love that we once shared,
Is no longer beared.

To you,
The most I could ever have wished for,
And dreamed,
And spent more than five minutes crying about,
Is gone.

I could have had you in my arms,
But you pushed me away,
I could have had you in my dreams,
But all I had were nightmares,
I could have told you I loved you that one time at band camp when everyone was making fun of you for your braces,
But you had braces,
So I was obligated to be polite.

To you,
This is the break up.
I can't do it anymore, dang it.

My darling, weeping pony, may thou weepest for me until the end of thine life.

I will be here for you, every moment,
But it was never a friendship for me,
So ride the winds in your chariot of tears,
And don't forget to brush!
