i believed him every time
he told me that he needed me
and that he was only mine
i gave him all of my heart
i almost gave my soul
but only because i really believed in us
i thought he made me whole
i did not want to believe the rumors
i did not believe my best friend
i definitely was in total denial
i did not comprehend
it was hard when i saw for myself
it was then i felt my heart break
i almost did not want to admit
that i had made such a terrible mistake
i did not notice it before
but you were there all along
you kept me up, you kept me sane
you made me believe that i was strong
it was wrong of me then
when i chose him over you
it was wrong of me then
to not believe that you were true
but now i understand
that you are truly the one
and in my heart, in my soul
you are second to none
