To Hold Your Handy
by Kristi
If I had one thing
In this world to keep with me,
I'd choose to hold your hand
Through all eternity.

The warmth there within
As I clasp you to my chest,
Fingers folding over
To feel my heart beat in my breast.

Every tear I've ever cried
You've captured in your hand,
And brushed away in tenderness
No one could ever understand.

Our fingers interlaced
Your thumb softly brushing mine,
You calm my racing heart
When it beats out of time.

The tender strength of you
There in my hand lies,
To show a gentle man's soul
It's then I realize.

No harm would ever come
As long as your hand I hold,
Forever we walk hand in hand
Down life's winding road.
