Sister of an Angel |
by Ann Marie |
My sister is an angel
Sent straight to us from God
I guess that's why some people
May think that she is odd
Angels aren't accustomed
To enduring this earthly storm
So when they are made human
Some may be deformed
A physical imperfection
Some are called to endure
Or a mental inability
For which there is no cure
Many people don't know how
To exist with angels like these
So instead of being kind
They mostly taunt and tease
Sadly, I must admit
I failed to understand
That I was being raised
With an angel from God's hand
Sometimes I was embarrassed
By the way she walked and talked
But I hated how everybody
Ridiculed her and gawked
I finally heard God's words
As He spoke straight to my heart
To show me how my life
For Him was set apart
To be sibling to an angel
Special qualities you must possess
A heart not readily distracted
A will not easily distressed
Now I thank you, Father
This honor I'm glad to share
"Sister of An Angel"
Is a title I proudly wear
