For every time you were there
Standing by my side
Giving me the strength
And helping me to bide.
For when you held my hand
And told me it was okay
That I could overcome
And make it through the day.
For keeping up my faith
When all else seemed lost
And being there each time
No matter what the cost.
For still loving me the same
Even at my very worst
And no matter what,
You always put me first.
For letting me know
That it?s okay to cry
You couldn?t give the answers
But you would always try.
For holding me up
When I couldn?t walk
You were my shield
You Were my strong rock.
You helped me love myself
When I felt ashamed
You helped me understand
I could not be blamed.
For being there each minute
Each second I grew stronger
Sitting through the nights
Just seeming to grow longer
For acceptance, For love
For courage, For hope
For a hand, For a heart
For all the strength to cope.
This one is for you
Because I know it?s true
I could never have done this
Without that part of you.
My dreams fell apart
But you helped me make anew
Now, each step I take,
I owe it all to you.
