Paradise
by Michelle
The little girl gazes at her mommy pour,
Pour, just one more drink.
She just wonders,
What, what does her mommy think.
The little girl gazes at her mommy fall,
Fall once more from the alcohol
All she wants is one day in paradise.
She begins to wonder,
Is it my fault? am i the reason she acting so foolish?
Does she not see, the little girl looking up to her.
The little girl's life becomes nothing but a blur.
All she wants is one day in paradise.
Night after night the little girl copes
Copes with the pain of watching her mom,
Watching the woman she wanted to become,
fall, falling harder, feeling nothing but numb
All she wants is reasons.
Why her mom has to drink.
The little girl soothes her mind with the tears
rolling down her cheeks as she lies awake
She slowly feels her heart start to break.
For she knows the next morning
Her mom will be nothing of the same.
It's all just a fake.
A fake the little girl lives with day to day.
Never knowing when her mom is going to pour,
pour another drink into her daughters lonely heart.
For another drink her mom pours, is stabbing her daughter in the heart.
All she wants is one day in paradise.
