Today is the day
she's gonna say goodbye
she'll forget it all
and she's not gonna cry
she'll walk w/ her friends
she'll laugh and smile
and she'll be perfectly fine
in such a short little while
it's all just a test
to prove she can lay low
to show him, herself
that she can let him go
one day things will all change
she'll be happy w/ someone new
he'll be all alone and sad
and he'll think about what he blew
he th ought he was right
but he was so wrong
he'll hold on to her
but she'll already be gone
He'll beg for her back
she'll laugh in his face
by then some guy
will have taken his place
she'll never forget
the times she had
and always remember
how things got bad
he wasn't happy
she had to let him be free
so he could live his life
& so she could be happy
