This Girl
by Bryan Thomas
This girl, the one who has stolen my heart

It makes me ache whenever we part.

She is as beautiful as she is funny.

Cute as a kitten, and sweeter than honey.

The moment I speak to her I begin to lose my breath,

Rapid heart beats as if I was on crystal meth.

What I wouldn’t give just to gaze into her eyes,

Even though I know she isn’t interested in guys.

With a sliver of hope, maybe to change her mind,

To show her that this guy is one of a kind.

The way this girl makes me feel it’s so hard to really say,

I hope she can feel the same about me someday.

I’m not good with words so I’ll just let it out,

This simple phrase, I’m just about to shout.

Baby, I love you, and this is without a doubt.
