Roses And Thorns |
by Sandy Burrell |
Every relationship has them; Good days and bad.
These are apart of the experience; you shouldn’t get so sad.
Your heart may have a crack, every now and then.
You never know the time of day; how it happens or when.
At times, your breath will get taken away.
And, you will begin to wonder, what made you feel that way.
The wonderful sensation; the smell of his cologne.
His breath-taking smile; or the way he answers the phone.
Piece by piece you put your thoughts together.
With the realization, you want to be with him forever.
Even though, blood has trickled from your heart.
You don’t want to lose him; you’ve loved him from the start.
You’re confused and broken; another’s opinion has shattered you.
You’re grieving inside; and you don’t know what to do.
You want to go back to the way things were before.
But you’ve ran into a wall; there is no door.
Crying and screaming for a way to get out.
Louder and louder; you start to shout.
Your heart is in front of you; you have been exposed.
All of your secrets are no longer enclosed.
All relationships have them; roses and thorns.
Its just time till you run into them; one makes you happy; the other makes you mourn.
