Memories |
by Endless Rapture |
All the colours descend from my essence
Subtle shades of grey gradually multiply
Shattered remains emit dreary illusions
As tears plunge from my exhausted eyes
On this dark, wintry and rainy afternoon
I stand by the window, gazing at nothing
As I reminisce on my more joyous days
Where thoughts of you come flooding in
You were once the key vessel of my heart
Sands of time filter throughout my mind
Each speck carrying beautiful memories
Of the greatest love I had come to find
Each time we embraced my heart melted
Your sweet, tender love drove me crazy
I wanted to freeze time and space forever
To stay in that blissful moment eternally
Warm bountiful kisses filled our fiery lips
As we strolled the shoreline hand in hand
And promised to love each other forever
We were deeply in love and it was grand
Now I am barricaded with painful emotions
Often dreaming these sweet visions of bliss
Feverishly reaching for your tender caress
Descending deeper into a mystifying abyss
Spectres of your beauty invade my mind
They no longer give my heart any peace
I scream your name, hungering, wanting
My heart is shattered, longing for release
If I could smell your divine perfume again
And breathe in profoundly of who you are
I'd willingly ascend thru the depths of hell
And channel thru perilous kingdoms afar
If I could feel you presence one final time
I'd choke and asphyxiate myself to death
And then sweetly came back to the living
For one last look at you, for one last breath
