When I look into your eyes I see the pain
Of something lost and nothing gained
What was so bad that you had to let go?
I wish I could hold you and let you know.
What our friendship was it always will be
The smile on your face was enough for me
To see you walk by and not say hi
I have to tell you that it hurts me inside.
You sheltered me from the cold
With words of wisdom sweetly told
You warm my heart with just one smile
Making life seem all worth while.
If things were different
Where would we be?
Would I have even met you?
And would I be free?
What lies ahead I do not know
For fate will show us where to go
I just wanted to tell you how I feel
And maybe one day this dream will be real.
