Life and Love |
by Steve Flash |
Life is tough
Love is tougher
But it's more satisfying
And at the same time, rougher
You can control you life
And the choices you make
But when love comes into the picture
You do things in which you normally wouldn't partake
The deeper you fall
The more spontaneous you become
New places to explore
New thrills to be done
The backseat of a Honda
Becomes a favorite hangout spot
A radio and a heater
A paradise in a parking lot
You can't forget the other stuff
All the sudden you find yourself doing
On the phone, late night talks
On the weekends, midnight walks
After a real big fight
You get pissed and head straight home
Nothing else is on your mind
Your head feels as if it will explode
After awhile, once you make-up
It feels like love just got 10 times stronger
And after spending the whole day wrapped up in each other
30 minutes that night seems so much longer
But if there is no chance for make-up
Life then seems way too flawed
And even if you never cry
The tears begin to fall
Once that love has gone away
You start living in the past
Insecurities become your best friend
You wonder why it didn't last
Too many questions, too afraid ask
Or maybe your just scared of the answers
Hoping, praying there's something to save
Loneliness spreads through you like a cancer
But in this desperate state of mind
You fail to realize this fact
Life moves forward, people do too
There's no point in looking back
Finally you let go, and start living again
After clinging to what was already lost long ago
Now wasted time and your love have something in common
They are both gone with nothing to show
Some people don't get that far
It's too much of a burden to carry
So they carelessly take their own life
Not thinking everything in life is temporary
The worst pain anyone will ever know
Is when you lose what you worked hard to spring
Love makes you feel untouchable, then throws you to the ground
That's why love is more dangerous than anything
Life can end your love
But your able to love again
Love can end your life
Now that's impossible to mend
Live each day, one at a time
Don't worry about losing what you apprehend
Just remember that all things, good or bad
Will eventually come to an end
