why cant you forget

why cant you pretend like nothing happend
why cant you go on with life
as if they were never there
how do you not remember
its not possible
its just reality
day by day
we live with memories
the ones we wish we could forget
yet those are the ones that had meant the most
we can only hope
that someday the memories will forever last
in the dwellingness of our hearts
racing
racing through your mind
the smiles the kisses the joyful laughs
fade into the darkness of the past
never will what has been said
be replaced
somehow, someway
day by day
we
the creators of heartbreak
always ask the same question why?
