Girl of the Woods
by Rahil Tarique
I saw a girl a week ago,
Walking through the woods;
Had Flower on her Hair and Her Steps were Slow;
Made Me Curious...So I stood.

When she looked at me, her Face seemed familiar,
Those Eyes, those Lips and those Wavy Black Hair.
Her Pale deep smile had a haunting glow,
Reminded me of a girl, I knew long ago.

Reminded me of a song, I used to Hear;
Reminded me of a Shadow, that brought so many Tears:
Tears that still Roll Down and dry in the Sun;
Reminded me of a Time, when I Loved Someone.

She opened her lips and called my name;
Her Voice passed right through me and a little thought came;
Who was this girl - a girl so haunting?
Was she real, or was I just Imagining?

I walked towards her - still trying to Remember,
I may have seen her somewhere - in some December.
When I reached towards her, she wasn't there anymore;
But the air had her presence, and her foot-print's on the floor.

A week passed by - and I am thinking about her still,
Who was that Girl in the woods, just beside the hills?
Still thinking, I turned around to get some tea,
And then I saw her again...by my door - glancing at me;

A curtain flew behind - and I got distracted;
Quickly turned around, only to find her evaporated;
But where she was standing, I found a note,
It said something creepy and here I quote:,

"Your Lonely Nights...have just Begun,
And that's because...You Love Someone !"
