Wakening
by Kim
His warm breaths reach me
Just before his lips
They kiss me softly
And soon will be parted

In deep slumber
He will lie beside me
Chest rising and falling
Lost in thought until the sun

His visage so peaceful
As he sleeps near my arm
Now he awakens
His lips meet again

He smiles at me
Peace intermingled with a smile
He loves me
His face, in all phases, tells me

Returned to one another
We remain young
Joined to each other before a smile
Just as his lips each morning
