Mother's Prayers |
by Ann Marie |
I know I've caused you heartaches
And sleepless nights?more than a few
I know I brought you many tears
While you wondered what I'd do
You prayed that I would choose the path
That you had led me to
No parent can force the choice to be made
And now I'm thanking you
Thank you for the many prayers
You offered up for me
Thank you for the lessons taught
And prayers that God I'd seek
Thank you for the love I know
You held within your heart
Thanks for teaching me God?s Word
His Truth will not depart
I tried to take some detours
As I journeyed on my way
You did your best to steer me back
If I'd not heed, you'd pray
Your prayers were not ignored
God heard every single one
I'm trotting down the narrow path
Until my race is done
We all may get distracted
Even when on the right road
But mother's prayers are always there
To help relieve the load
A mother's heart is full of love
For the children that God gives
And Mother's heart is full of prayer
That for her Lord they'll live
I very seldom thanked her
Showed love?not often enough
Now I pray that she knows
I love her so very much
