Hey Daddy, Do You Remember |
by Angela |
Hey Daddy, Do You Remember
I was always your little shadow
I'd follow you every where
Whenever you would turn around
I would be right there
Hey Daddy, do you remember
When I was about two
I would crawl under
The car with you
When mom would come looking
She'd see my little feet
They would be sticking out
From underneath
Hey Daddy, do you remember
Going to turtle back zoo
Those turtles were so huge
And I could ride on them too
Hey Daddy, do you remember
Going to the shore
Playing in the sand, riding on the rides
And doing so much more
Hey Daddy, do you remember
My very first date
Oh how you drilled that poor boy
And for the movie we were almost late
Hey Daddy, do you remember
My senior prom
And even graduation day
When you were as proud as mom
Hey Daddy, do you remember
The day that I got married
You walked me down the aisle
But you looked quite harried
Hey Daddy, do you remember
When your grandkids were born
You were a proud grandpa
And you tooted your own horn
Hey Daddy, I remember
All those special days
And many other things
You taught me along the way
Hey Daddy, I remember all the long talks
And the punishments too
You did it all for me
Not just for you
Hey Daddy, did you ever know
That you are my hero
And that you have kept me
On the straight and narrow
Hey Daddy, you may not believe me
But this is very true
I am who I am
And its because of you
Hey Daddy, I love you very dearly
And I'll always be your little girl
You'll always be my hero
Cause you are my whole world
