Just Like Mom |
by Ann Stareyes |
I prayed to become a Mom and Grandma
And I've accomplished my dream
I wanted to experience the love
That made my Mom's heart beam.
Mom was proud of the Mother I became
My kids were the joy of her life
I only wish she could've lived
To have shared my Grandkids heart.
Mom left her mark in society
She left her goodness in me
She was such a precious Woman
Anyone in this world could see.
Mom was always last on her list
She put everyone's needs first
Her life will always be remembered
She was always the one to trust.
Mom was truly a remarkable Lady
And such an inspiration to me
Today I try to walk in her shadow
She's just who I prayed to be.
Mom would be proud of my accomplishments
And for all that I do
For the goodness she instilled in me
And a great big heart too.
There's not a day I take a breath
That I don't wake with her on my mind
There's not a night I close my eyes
Without telling her I'll love her till the end of time.
If you're blessed and still have your Mom
Love her with your whole heart
When her time on earth is over
It will tear your world apart.
There's so many times I need her
For her love and her strength
Just for her sweet words and a hug
So I won't become so weak.
Today I have to visit her
At that graveyard where she sleeps
I open up my heart to her
Then I feel at peace.
The memories will always remain
And her love lives in my heart
Mom was my everything
I hate her life had to stop.
I know Mom's in a better place
She earned her Angel wings
She now rejoices in Heaven
And her heart will for-ever sing.
