Dear Son,
I have loved you since
The day you were conceived
You are the greatest blessing
That I have ever received
I've helped to guide you through your life
I've given you love and support
I have even cried for you
Whenever you were hurt
I've tried to give you everthing
You have ever asked for
I let you back in
Everytime you walked out the door
As a single mom
I've done the best that I can
I only want you to be
A sweet and loving man
We've had a great relationship
Until a day ago
When we had an argument
And you said "I hate you so"
I don't understand
How you could say those words to me
And my heart is breaking
I wish this you could see
But you have shut your eyes
And even your heart
To this caring mom
Who has loved you from the start
I only want the best for you
And I need for you to see
That our argument
Was never meant to be
I was only trying to help you
To get past a rough time
But it looks to me
As if you think I crossed the line
Now you want to leave
And get out on your own
That I can understand
Because into a man you have grown
But to say that you hate me
And for you to leave being so mad
Is not a very good thing
And it truly makes me sad
But please always remember that
No matter how you feel
This mom will always love you
And I'll pray that your heart will heal.
