Little golden cloud
by Victoria
A little golden cloud
sailed across the sky.
it twinkled in the sunshine,
that's how it caught my eye.
i quickly climbed a mountain,
and watched as it came near,
and when it was just out of reach,
it simply disappeared.
i hung my head and turned around,
went home and soon forgot,
the little cloud i nearly touched
but in the end had not.
a few days later once again,
i saw a blinking light,
looked up to see the golden cloud,
it glittered shining bright.
i raced up to the mountain top
and tried to get a hold,
when suddenly i saw this phrase,
carved in the cloud in gold:
this cloud here you will never touch,
no matter what you do,
this cloud is like the way you are,
when i say i love you.
you shine so bright, you seem so near,
but when i try to touch,
you pull away, don't let me close,
you fear real love too much.
and then the cloud just fell apart,
and showered golden tears,
upon the earth to cry your pain,
that you had felt for years.
